We believe MENTORSHIP is simply a relationship where one person starts off\u00a0asking for guidance or assistance and evolves into both contributing value to the relationship. This relationship is established naturally without formality or\u00a0 programs, even going so far as to avoid labeling it a mentorship. A\u00a0mentorship should be based on trust, confidentiality, mutual respect, and\u00a0
sensitivity. It can ebb and flow over time, sometimes experiencing extended\u00a0periods of time before re-engaging due to the natural fluctuations and life\u00a0
changes that are organic to most relationships.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

USMC APA Professionals is one of many places where these relationships can occur. I encourage you to ask questions and to share your knowledge, skills, and experiences.

    2. Seek advice or assistance regarding sustaining and developing the\u00a0mentoring interaction if needed.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Help the mentee identify goals and challenges and set priorities for\u00a0relevant personal growth.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Seek to use supporting resources that facilitate and sustain the\u00a0engagement of the mentee.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    5. Act as an experienced role model.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    6. Act as a sponsor in the mentee’s organization or network.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    7. Allow the mentee to drive the relationship and encourage them to take\u00a0increasing responsibility for their own self-reflection and development.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
